The Kampala Metropolitan Police has arrested three more suspects in connection with the violent robbery of UGX45,184,600, that occurred on May 6th at approximately 11:30 a.m. at the Nsambya Traffic Lights along Ggaba Road in Kampala.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy PRO, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, police investigations have so far led to the arrest of five suspects, with efforts ongoing to trace and arrest other suspects who are still at large.
“We reassure the public of our commitment to ensuring that all those involved in this robbery are arrested and brought to justice” he said.
The trio, whose identities are yet to be revealed, join Kamoga Yudah, alias “Sparta,” and Kayabula Arnold, who are in custody following their arrests last week.
The gruesome robbery that shocked the country occured on May 6th, when the manager of Riverside Forex Bureau and his colleague left Bunga Trading Centre on a motorcycle carrying USD 13,000 to exchange it into Uganda shillings.
After successfully exchanging the money at a forex bureau along Kampala Road, they were intercepted by motorcycle-riding assailants at Nsambya and robbed of the cash.
