KAMPALA BUSINESS WEEKLY — Success often comes from unexpected places, and for Okello Rogers, the journey began on athletic tracks thousands of miles away from home.
Born in Kanungu District in 1990, Rogers spent his childhood facing economic hardship. Despite these challenges, he developed a passion for athletics and dreamed of competing on larger stages. His opportunity arrived when former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi facilitated his journey to China. The move was initially intended to help Rogers pursue his studies, but it would ultimately shape his future in an entirely different way.
While studying and competing, Rogers became fascinated by the business environment surrounding him. He studied how international companies operated and how entrepreneurs built successful enterprises.
By the time he returned to Uganda, Rogers had acquired not only athletic experience but also a strong entrepreneurial mindset. He launched several ventures and gradually built a portfolio of business interests.
Today, Rogers is recognized for his determination, international exposure, and growing influence. Beyond business, he has established strong relationships within Uganda’s entertainment industry, particularly with popular musician Alien Skin.
Those who know him describe him as a visionary who transformed a single opportunity into a lifetime of achievement.
