Rubaare Ntungamo: The Business Community of Rubaare Town Council, led by Chairperson Muhinda Fred, has submitted a formal request to the Town Clerk seeking modifications to the upcoming enforcement of a trade order originally set for 15th April 2026.
The appeal, dated 07/04/2026, weaves together three core demands aimed at protecting local traders and aligning development with physical planning regulations.
The community urges the council to extend the enforcement deadline to 1st July 2026, granting affected businesses sufficient time to relocate to new premises without disruption.
Simultaneously, traders are pressing for the allocation of a market area that has long been requested to accommodate daily traders effectively, providing them a structured trading environment.
In addition, the letter calls for a sensitization meeting with business owners and landowners to guide them on upgrading their premises to meet the required physical planning standards before any demolition, ensuring compliance with existing regulations.
The request has been copied to several district and local authorities including the RDC, DISO, and CAO of Ntungamo District, the LCIII of Rubaare Town Council, the OC of Rubaare Police Station, the GISO, area councillors, members of the physical planning committee, and all LCI chairpersons in Rubaare.
Town officials are expected to weigh the plea, balancing strict enforcement with the practical needs of Rubaare’s business community. The decision could significantly influence trade operations and urban planning in the town.
