The Deputy Inspector General of Government Dr. Patricia Achan Okiria has cautioned graduates against indulging in corruption tendencies in order to protect their integrity in the different professional careers they have taken.
“As the Chancellor rightly charged you to face issues like corruption and community responsibility, he believed that passing exams was not the only thing, but that it is an assurance of the best script of values, service, creativity, responsibility, integrity, and professional teamwork” she said.
Dr Okiria made the remarks while addressing grandaunts at the University of Kisubi 10th graduation ceremony of 542 graduates of which 319 were female while 223 were male graduates on Friday.
“So as you tackle the challenges of life, carry yourself with grace, but push through with perseverance. Be pilgrims of integrity, be pilgrims of social responsibility, and I believe that if there’s anything that challenges you, you’ll be able to stand by it” she said.

Dr Okiria urged the graduates to leverage the skills and knowledge they have acquired in research and innovation to contribute to solutions for the country.
“Be the generation that elevates the national conversation about transaction into transformation” she said.
