Members of Ntugamo District local Government are in shock following the death of Kushaba Anthony, the district Communications officer and younger brother to exiled Dr Kizza Besigye’s lawyer, Eron Kiiza.
The sudden passing of Kushaba was announced by Kiiza, in a post on his official X account on Saturday morning.
According to the human rights activist, Kushaba was found dead at his residence in Ntungamo, on Friday having just returned from the burial of their paternal aunt in Kajara, Ntungamo.
However, Kiiza noted that the exact cause of his sudden death remained unknown.

“Anthony was a journalist, he served at Radio Kigezi and BFM, among other stations, before joining Ntungamo District Local Government as Communications Officer” he posted.
While eulogising his late brother, Kiiza described him as a great brother, a friend and a confidant.
“Someone I could trust. It is painful, but I am strong. We thank God for a life of purpose, service, warmth, hard work and generosity” he said.
He added, “No one looked after our ageing parents as he did. He checked on them constantly as he criss-crossed Kabale, Ntungamo and the surrounding areas, he is survived by a wife and children. It was a short life, but an impactful and happy one”.
Kiiza noted that the although the deceased had a home, a family and children in Kabale town, he will be laid to rest on Sunday at Rwahi, in Rwentobo–Rwahi Town Council.
