Police Arrest Suspect In Criminal Activities Along Jinja Road
Police officers from Banda Police Post, have arrested a suspect in connection with a viral video circulating on social media, including on X, in which the individual appeared to make references to criminal activities allegedly taking place along Jinja Road and within Banda.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy PRO ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the suspect identified as Wafula Solomon, a resident of Banda Zone III, Banda Parish, Nakawa Division, Kampala District, was arrested around mid-day on Thursday.
“Police are investigating the circumstances under which the video was made and whether the suspect or any of the individuals mentioned therein have been involved in criminal acts committed along Jinja Road and its surrounding areas” he said.
Owoyesigyire cautioned members of the public against producing, sharing, or circulating content that glorifies, promotes, or appears to endorse criminal activity.
“Such conduct is not tolerated and may undermine ongoing efforts to combat crime and maintain public order” he said.
Owoyesigyire noted that investigations are ongoing to establish the identities and criminal involvement of the persons referenced in the video.
“Appropriate action will be taken against anyone found to have participated in criminal activities” he said.
