Two top international televangelists Benny Hinn and Kenneth Copeland have cancelled their Uganda miracle healing crusade,that was slated to take place this weekend in Kampala City over the recent Ebola outbreak in neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
According to a statement released by the Benny Hinn ministries, the evangelists decided to postpone their “Global Conference on the Holy Spirit” at the Miracle Centre Cathedral, after consultation with health experts, event leadership and guidance from the Centre for Disease Control (CDC).
“The decision has been made to postpone the Holy Spirit Conference in Uganda, originally scheduled for June 27–29, in the interest of public safety and well-being” the statement reads.
The Benny Hinn ministries officials, noted that discussions are already underway to reschedule the crusade that was under Robert Kayanja and set to feature Paul Enenche, to late September or October.
“We also want to express our heartfelt gratitude to those who have already sent special gifts in preparation for this historic event. Please be assured that every gift intended for this outreach will remain committed to the work of evangelism in Africa and will be used to help support the rescheduled Uganda crusade and other major outreaches on the continent later this year” the statement read.
The ministries officials noted that pastor Benny Hinn, will in the meantime continue an active season of ministry with upcoming outreaches in Guatemala, Europe, South Africa, and other nations around the world.
According to the latest ministry of health Ebola updates, as of Friday, Uganda had recorded 20 cumulative confirmed cases, 15 of which were imported cases, while five cases were Ugandans
From the 20 confirmed cases, there have so far been, two deaths, with 15 recoveries and only three patients remaining in admission.
