The kira Division Police in Wakiso District has in custody 28 suspects over alleged human trafficking and promoting pornography.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police PRO SP Racheal Kawala, revealed that the group was arrested following an intelligence-led operation in Mbalwa Buyinja Zone, Kyaliwajala, Namugugongo Division in Kira Municipality.
Kawala said preliminary investigations suggest the young women were being held in the house to produce commercial online adult content.
“During the operation, officers found 27 females residing in three rooms, together with various gadgets allegedly used for online adult content activities” she said.
Kawala said a significant cache of evidence was recovered from the scene, including laptops, cameras, and 10 specialized adult devices.
“All 28 suspects are currently in police custody, assisting detectives with statement recording as investigations widen” she said.
