Uganda Prison Warder Moses Anguyo No. 13544 who is wanted over the alleged fatal shooting ofthe Deputy Officer in Charge of Prisons and two other people at Kiboga Prison has been arrested in Aru Town in DR Congo.
According to the West Nile Police spokesperson Josephine Angucia, Anguyo who has been on the run since late February was tracked down through intelligence from earlier arrests of his two brothers and a girlfriend, who provided leads to his location.
Angucia revealed that Anguyo has since been extradited to Arua and is in police custody awaiting transfer to Kiboga, where the killings occurred.
Earlier this month, the prisons service Commissioner General Dr. Johnson Byabashaija, announced bounty of UGX 10 million as a reward to anyone who provides reliable information leading to the arrest of Anguyo.
In February, Anguyo is said to have shot dead Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Hope Catherine (Deputy Officer in Charge), Principal Officer I Akishuri Bright (Third in Command), and Sarah Ayebare, spouse of the Officer in Charge before disposing of the firearm and running off to hiding.
