The Police at Nateete are holding one suspect in connection with a case of child torture that occurred in Kanaala Zone, Mutundwe Parish, Bunamwaya Division, Wakiso District.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Kawala Rachael, the suspect identified as 34 year old Nankunda Esther, a 34-year-old resident of the area was with the care of the 10-year-old boy who is Primary Four pupil by her brother.
Kawala noted that preliminary findings indicate that on Eid Day, 20th March 2026, at approximately 5pm, the suspect allegedly burnt the victim’s hands using a heated white polythene bag, accusing him of stealing money amounting to 100,000 UGX.
Kawala revealed that the victim, whose identity has been withheld for protection has since been rescued and medically examined and the suspect is currently in police custody pending court proceedings.
“We strongly condemn acts of child abuse and torture” she said.
