Taewaiko Dak Hussein, a former house help of the late Uganda Christian University (UCU) Director of Student Affairs, Pamela Ruth Tumwebaze, is expected to be arraigned before the Mukono Chief Magistrate’s Court today to face charges murder.
Taewaiko was arrested in Budaka District by a joint security task force on February 14th after being tracked to his mother’s home.
Upon his arrest, the suspect was found with a number of the deceased’s belongings and was transferred back to Kampala to help in the investigations.
Tumwebaze was laid to rest at her ancestral home in Kanyigoshora Village, Rubaya Sub-county, Mbarara District on Sunday.
Gthe deceased was attacked at her home in Gwafu West Village, Seeta Ward, Goma Division, Mukono District on Tuesday night and was rushed to the Church of Uganda Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
According to preliminary police reports, police received information at 3am on Wednesday, informing them that unknown people had gained entry into her house and strangled her at around 2am.
