According to residents, the attack occurred at around 2am when the yet to be identified attackers intercepted the vehicle, killed all the three occupants and torched the tourist vehicle registration number UA 186BP that they were traveling in.

The attackers are believed to be cattle thieves who have been terrorizing residents over the past few months in the area with several communities reporting a spike in cattle raids.

Residents who say they have lost more than 300 cattle in the past few months due to such thefts are now living in fear of lives of the raids in the area.

The Police has conveyed the bodies of the deceased to Koboko hospital mortuary for postmortem as investigations into the brutal murder continue.
