His lawyer, Hamaza Kyamanywa, asked court to release his client on bail noting that the two parties had reached a reconciliation.

However state attorney, Mercy Yamangusho asked court to reject the bail application, warning that doing so would lead to a wider public anger.

“The accused is a police officer whose duty is to protect the public, especially women. Instead, he chose to assault one,” she fumed.

“This is impunity of the highest order! The public is bitter — court must send a message” she said.

His worship Aisu remanded Nsiima until October 16, 2025 for bail application hearing
