The Uganda People’s Defence Forces and security agencies are yet again in mourning after another of its most decorated service men Brigadier General Tom Kikoyo Kabuye was found dead on Monday morning in Luweero district.
According to a statemen released by the family, Kabuye who was the Assistant Chief of Defence Intelligence, was found dead in Kikyusa Town Council.
“With a heavy heart I regret to announce the untimely death of one of our own members and great sons of Luwero District. Brig Gen Tom Kabuye was discovered this morning at Kikyusa Town Council. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” the statement read.
However the circumstances surrounding the death of one of the most senior officers in Uganda’s security establishment remain unclear with the UPDF yet to release an official statement on his death.
Last week, shock gripped the country’s security circles after news of the death of Police flying Squad’s Moses Walugembe at his home on Wednesday.
The news of his death was announced by Minister of state for youth and children affairs Barugahara Balaam on his X handle.
“On behalf of friends, it is with deep sorrow and heartfelt grief that I announce the passing of our patriotic and dedicated @PoliceUg officer, Afande Musa Walugembe, who was serving with the Special Investigations Unit (SIU). Afande Walugembe passed away peacefully in his sleep cause of death unknown” Balaam posted at the time.
