Uganda’s hopes to progress to the Semifinals of CHAN came to a halt a 1- 0 loss to the lions of Teranga Senegal at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on this Saturday evening.
The Boys put up a wanting performance ending the first half goalless against the reigning Champions.
Sadly the Cranes suffered a big blow as Jude Ssemugabi was stretchered off the playing ground after suffering an injury.
However the lions of Teranga got the better of the cranes and a goal from Oumar Ba in the 62nd minute broke the deadlock, putting the Lions of Teranga ahead of Uganda Cranes.
The Cranes put to waste a cut clear chance as Arnold Odong guided the ball above the frame in the dying moments of the match.
The Late substitute of Usama Arafat to replace Allan Okello did little to help the Cranes to even salvage a draw that would have seen them face off in penalties with Senegal.
Uganda cranes now joins other Pamoja cohosts Kenya and Tanzania were edged out of the tournament on Friday.
The defending champion’s progress onto the semi finals as the Boys head back to their Hotel on the dusty streets of Kisasi.
