Chaos broke out during the burial of the late People’s Front for Freedom (PFF), Denmark Adios Bainomugisha inKazindiro Village, Rukungiri District on Saturday after mourners interrupted a speech by one Brian Akampurira on behalf of Minister Jim Muhwezi.
The charged mourners who largely consisted of opposition members begun chanting “Free Besigye” and singing “Never Surrender” as they moved toward Akampurira who was still adamantly delivering Min Muhwezi’s message.
He was however forced to stop the speech as the mourners became more agitated and louder as they began to move towards him, the situation was only saved by emcee before order was restored and speeches resumed.
Adios who was vying for the Mbarara City South MP under the PFF ticket died after he reportedly fell down a flight of stairs at the Grand Holiday Hotel in Mbarara on Wednesday night.
The deceased, a former Guild President of Bishop Stuart University and youth leader under FDC who was a charismatic advocate for democracy and youth affairs had recently intensified his campaigns for the Mbarara City South Member of Parliament slot under the PFF.
