Police in Ntungamo district has three suspects with the help of a K9 dog over the murder of an elderly woman, Naekeree Kedress, a resident of Butare Ward, Kauhunga sub-county, Ntungamo District.
According to a statement released by the police on Friday, the deceased’s body was found hanging in front of her door and was staying there with a grandson, and according to the grandson, two men grabbed and strangled her, and later hanged her body.
“When the police sniffer dog Yudah was introduced to the scene of crime, it picked scent and tracked for about 1km and moved to the house of Mercy, the daughter in-law of the deceased who was subsequently arrested” the statement further read.
Police says Mercy has so far revealed other three accomplices, two of whom are in police custody and the other on the run.
