Family and friends of celebrated media personality Cedric Babu have started a GoFundMe campaign to raise up to £300,000 (Ugx 1.5 billion) for Cedric who is currently admitted at Nairobi Hospital ICU battling severe heart failure to undergo a lifesaving heart transplant.
According to the family, the money when raised will help Babu who collapsed recently while on a trip in Kigali, Rwanda be flown to London, Uk for the specialized treatment.
The family in message to the public on Friday expressed gratitude for the support they are receiving in this trying time.
“We have so many queries about financial support. As we prepare for his transfer for a lifesaving heart transplant, we urgently need to raise funds for his evacuation and medical costs. As we continue to care for Cedric and prepare for the next steps in his treatment, we are welcoming contributions from all who feel moved to support” the statement read.
The 46 year old former TV host was also once voted as the President of the Uganda Boxing Federation.
