A pedestrian was knocked dead on Sunday evening along the Kampala – Entebbe Expressway, at around 6pm prompting for renewed warnings against walking or crossing the high-speed road.
In a statement released by the operator on X, the fatal crash occurred on the Expressway at KM 3, on the Kajjansi–Busega section, near a sharp bend.
“We are deeply saddened by today’s fatal incident involving a pedestrian on the Expressway at KM 3, on the Kajjansi–Busega section, near a sharp bend” the statement reads.
The operator further reminded the public living near the expressway of the dangers of attempting to cross or walk along the Expressway.
According to the expressway operators, they recently engaged neighbouring communities and reminded residents not to cross the Expressway, cut or tamper with the safety fence, or access the road through unauthorised points.

“We once again urge everyone, especially communities living near the Expressway, to keep pedestrians off the Expressway and use designated crossing points” the statement read.
Photos and videos shared of the scene shows a black Toyota Noah registration number UA 908 DF, resting against the concrete median barrier, with extensive damage to its front and left side.
Traffic police officers and expressway personnel in reflective jackets were seen examining the wreckage, while traffic was controlled around the crash site.
The expressway toll operators further urged all road users to drive within the speed limit, remain alert, and exercise extra caution when approaching bends and exit points.
“Please do not cross or walk on the Expressway. Let’s all play our part in keeping everyone safe” the operator said.
