“Preliminary investigations indicate that on the day of the incident, officials from the Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA), accompanied by an armed security team and police officers, visited Abbarci Industries Ltd. to conduct an inspection of the coffee processing facility” she said.

SP Tumushabe noted that the inspection team was reportedly led by an official identified as Mathias, who was known to the Acting Factory Manager and Accountant, Nalubega Zalika.

“Video footage that has since been obtained by investigators indicates that a scuffle occurred among some of the individuals present shortly before the fatal shooting. Investigations are currently focused on establishing the circumstances that led to the altercation and determining how it culminated in the shooting that claimed the life of Katerega Musa” she said.

Tumushabe said the three suspects remain in custody and will be produced before the courts of law as investigations continue.
