Police in Kawempe have arrested, Tik Toker “Chicken Chicken” real names Katongole Anthony in connection with a case of malicious damage to a motor vehicle.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police PRO Kawala Racheal, the Thursday arrest follows a viral video circulating on social media platforms, which allegedly shows the suspect damaging a Toyota Mark X, registration number UBM 696S, belonging to Sali Sharif, also known as “Shawa Shawa”.
Kawala said the incident is reported to have occurred in the wee hours of Thursday at approximately 3:00 a.m. in the parking area of Akamweesi Mall, located in Kawempe Division, Kampala District.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect, together with other individuals who are still at large, allegedly smashed the vehicle’s windscreens, causing extensive damage” she said.
Kawala noted that Chicken Chicken, is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
“Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the other individuals believed to have participated in the incident” she said.
Kawala further condemned all acts of lawlessness and reminded the public that such conduct will not be tolerated and that anyone found engaging in criminal acts will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
