The Police in Entebbe Municipality have arrested a notorious criminal Nabeete Grace, a.k.a FBI aka Escobar who has been terrorising areas of Entebbe and neighbouring Abaita Ababiri in Katabi Town Council.
According to a statement released by the Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy PRO ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Escobar was arrested during a joint security operation conducted in areas of Abaita Ababiri in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The operation followed the recent attack on Batabane Richard, a resident of Kawafu on the night of 12th February 2026, where the victim was attacked at his home in Kawafu.
Owoyesigyire noted that acting on credible information, security agencies mounted a coordinated operation in the early hours of 17th February 2026, resulting in the arrest of the key suspect Nabeete who allegedly led the aggravated robbery of Batabane, a resident of Kawafu Zone in Abaita Ababiri robbing him of his belongings and allegedly broke his arm during the robbery.
While narrating his ordeal to 360 News UG, Mr Batabane revealed that on the fateful night, he was traveling from his village in Jinja City and arrived in Abaita Ababiri at midnight.
“After parking my car, I walked and crossed over to the side heading towards Kampala direction, I bypassed Abaita Police station, I stopped by The Hub as it approached 1am where I found my friends near a bar there and we chatted for about 15 minutes after which I headed home”.
“As I was approaching my home, I called my wife informing her that I had arrived so that I could find when she had opened for me, as I placed the phone back into my pocket, I just felt someone grab my neck and strangling me while trying to trip me so that I fall down” he narrated.
Batabane added, “I fought back as I dragged him towards my home, as I was doing so I saw another gang member standing infront, I had entangled with the first one his colleagues and I was able drag him near the house, during the scuffle, I stepped on nails which penetrated my right foot as I continued to struggle with him, when my wife heard the struggle outside, she raised an alarm and the thief hit me and threw me in the trench near the home and I broke my hand” he narrated.
Mr Batabane said that the thieves run away after his wife sounding the alarm.
Owoyesigyire confirmed that Nabeete is currently in custody to assist with investigations as efforts to apprehend other suspects still at large are continue.
