Busia District Police has in custody two men over allegedly beheading John Bosco Lobyoko, a friend of theirs on Thursday night and after dumped his headless body in River Busamba in Masinya Sub County.
According to the deceased’s wife, the two suspects picked up John Bosco Lobyoko from their rental unit in the pretext of going to attend a social gathering, only to learn of his murder on Friday morning.
“They came to our rented room at night and called my husband, saying they were going out, only for me to learn the next morning that he had been killed,” she said.
While talking to residents after the discovery of the deceased’s body at Mugasya trading center, the Busia police Deputy CID, James Mutayire, confirmed the arrests and said a panga suspected to have been used in the murder, along with the deceased’s clothing, were recovered from one of the suspects’ homes.
“We recovered a panga, suspected to have been used in the murder, along with clothes belonging to the deceased from one of the suspects’ houses,” Mutayire said.
The deceased’s body was taken to Masafu Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
