Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has revealed that she won’t respond to the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs Rebecca Kadaga’s veiled insults as elections for the position of Second National Vice Chairperson of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the NRM draws closer.
“I have seen all the insults, but for me I was brought up in a very good way, my upbringing is that I don’t attack elders, I have too much respect for Rt Hon Kadaga however much she attacks me anywhere, I will not respond to her” she noted.
Speaker Among who was meeting NRM delegates from the Busoga sub region in Buyende rather urged for an end to hostile language between contenders and called for unity among party members.
During the meeting with the NRM delegates, Among discussed the challenges, opportunities, and ways to work together to improve livelihoods for people in the region.
In a video that went viral recently, former Speaker of Parliament Kadaga launched a verbal attack at her predecessor saying she is restricted to travel the world freely by corruption-related sanctions.
However on Saturday, Speaker Among declined to delve into fighting Kadaga noting that she was brought up and taught not to attack elders.
