Buganda Road Chief Magistrate, Ronald Kayizzi has denied bail to National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi’s civilian bodyguard Noah Mitala alias Nuwa Mutwe to give the state time to verify the sureties the defence had presented.
Mutwe, who was making his second attempt at bail had presented two sureties Kawempe Mayor Emmanuel Sserunjogi and Buganda Speaker Florence Kiwanuka who magistrate Kayizzi tasked the state to verify within four days.
Mutwe is jointly charged with ASP Charles Twine, who was granted bail by the same court two weeks ago faces allegations of inciting violence and hate speech against President Museveni and Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
The case has been adjourned to July 21, 2025, for a ruling on the bail application, Mutwe was remanded back to Luzira Prison until then.
