The Entebbe Senior Magistrate Grade one, Edgar Tibayeita Tusiime has revealed that shoemaker and National Unity Platform (NUP) member Mr Juma Musuuza alias Madubarah has a case to answer before the court after the case of hate speech was sufficiently made against him before the court.
The decision came after the prosecution had closed it’s case in the last hearing allowing court to review the evidence in the case which had reached it’s Prima Facie Case stage and found sufficient evidence requiring Musuuza to take the stand in the hearing.
Defence lawyer Mr. Jonathan Elotu told court that the defence wasn’t going to give evidence and will file his written submission in three days.
His worship Tibayeita further remanded Musuuza and adjourned the hearing until 18th July for defence submissions, 28th July for mention of the status of submissions and 22nd August for judgment of the case against the Tik Toker.
Madubarah is charged with hate speech and spreading malicious information about President Yoweri Museveni, first son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba and Speaker Anita Among.
Court heard that in October last year, Musuuza, while in Wakiso district or thereabout using Tik Tok account Madubarah UG through a computer sent or shared information which is likely to ridicule, degrade or demean the trio.
