Police has confirmed the death of one person following the collapse of a structure under construction at Holy City Church, Brother Ronnies Ministries, in Bwerenga, Katabi Town Council, Wakiso District on Monday.
While addressing journalists following an inspection of the area on Tuesday, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson kawala Racheal, revealed that the deceased has been identified as Lukwago Francis, a builder.
“According to the latest update as of 27 October 2026, 25 adult males have been rescued from the rubble. The survivors are receiving medical treatment at Kisubi Hospital and Entebbe Grade B Hospital” she said.
Kawala noted that search and rescue operations remain ongoing as emergency response teams continue working to establish whether any other persons are still trapped beneath the debris.
“Meanwhile, investigations into the cause of the collapse are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident” she said.
