The music industry is in mourning following the murder of legendary musician, vocalist and saxophonist Moses Matovu by unknown assailants in the wee hours of Thursday.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police PRO Kawala Rachael, a case of suspected murder has been registered by the Kabalagala Police.
“Moses was allegedly attacked this morning 24.09.2026 by unknown assailants at Kibuli Market Zone B, in Makindye Division, Kampala District” she said.
She added, “He was rushed to Kibuli Hospital for medical attention, where he later succumbed to his injuries”.
Kawala noted that the police is currently at the scene conducting investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“Efforts are also underway to identify and apprehend the suspected assailants” she said.
