The City Hall Magistrates Court has charged and remanded Patricia Rose Turindwamukama the prime suspect in the murder of 22 year old Tiktoker Jovia Namuwulya alias Jovia1235, which occurred last month in Mukalazi Zone, Bukoto I Parish in Nakawa Division.
According to prosecution, Turindwamukama and another person still at large allegedly caused Jovia1235’s death with malice aforethought on the night of August 20, 2026, in Mukalazi Zone.
Prosecution further alleged that Turindwamukama, robbed Jovia1235 of an iPhone 12 Pro Max valued at UGX 2 million, a cream-white bag worth UGX 150,000 and three items of clothing valued at UGX 200,000 and a passport.
Additionally, prosecution alleged that a knife was used during the robbery and that Jovia1235 was subsequently killed.
However, Turindwamukama wasn’t allowed to take plea, since the charges were capital in nature and can only be heard by the High Court.
Senior Principal Grade One Magistrate Nicholas Aisu, has remanded Turindwamukama to Luzira prison until September 22nd, when the case will come up for mention.
Namuwulya, a waitress and TikToker was stabbed to death in her rented room in Mukalazi Zone, Bukoto on August 20, 2026.
Her body was discovered after her family raised an alarm when she repeatedly failed to answer their phone calls.
Concerned relatives contacted the caretaker of the premises, who went to check on Namuwulya. The room was locked from the outside, but when the caretaker peeped through a window, she noticed bloodstains inside.
Police were subsequently called and found Namuwulya lying dead in a pool of blood in the room she had rented and lived with her roommate Patricia Rose Turindwamukama for about seven months.
Police tracked down Turindwamukama to Mbuya, where she was reportedly hiding with her boyfriend.
According to police, the boyfriend alerted authorities, leading to her arrest, at the time, she was allegedly preparing to leave the country for Iraq.
Police said she had applied for an Iraqi visa on August 21, a day after Namuwulya was killed.
