The High Court in Kampala has granted socialite bail to socialite Bryan Kirumira, alias Bryan White, mandatory bail after finding that he had spent 293 days on remand without being committed for trial.
While granting him bail, Justice Paul Gadenya Wolimbwa noted that White’s stay on remand had exceeded the constitutional limit by 113 days.
Court further noted that once 180 days’ remand without committal has elapsed for a High Court‑triable offence, bail is mandatory and the court may only impose reasonable conditions.
Justice Wolimbwa ordered Kirumira to deposit UGX 10 million in cash and present two substantial sureties, each bonded at UGX 50 million non-cash.
He further directed Bryan White to surrender his passport, stay away from his Badongo residence and avoid contact with prosecution witnesses.
Bryan White was arrested on November 13, 2025 and faces six charges, including aggravated human sacrifice, manslaughter, possession of narcotic drugs, conspiracy to commit a felony, giving false information, and engaging in rash and negligent acts.
He is jointly charged with four other people before the Makindye Chief Magistrate’s Court.

Under Article 23(6)(c) of the Constitution, a person accused of an offence triable only by the High Court must be released on bail if they have spent 180 days on remand before committal.
