The City Hall Magistrates Court, presided over by His worship Nicholas Aisu, has remanded socialite Christian Asiimwe, commonly known as Don Chris, on 127 charges of obtaining money by false pretence from job seekers.
Don Chris who was recently arrested from Zzana, was arraigned before the court on Wednesday afternoon and read the charges which were contained in seven separate charge sheets, each listing about 20 complainants.
According to prosecution, Don Chris allegedly collected millions of shillings from the job seekers after falsely representing that he could secure them employment in foreign countries.
He is accused of obtaining money from hundreds of job seekers between 2022 and 2025 by falsely promising to secure them employment abroad in countries including Canada, the United Kingdom, Qatar and Dubai.
Don Chris, who was the director of the defunct labour recruitment company Sky Pins, has been remanded to Luzira Prison until September 21st, when the case will come up again for mention.
