Sad news coming in indicates that 23 pupils of King David Junior School Ndejje, have reportedly passed on in an accident in Kapchorwa.
According to reports the children were traveling from sipi falls for a school tour, when they got involved in the fatal accident.
According to Cherop Mark on X, the tragic road accident occurred at Chepkwatit, involving a Bus branded Liberty Tour and Travel with Pupils donning King David Junior School, Ndejje uniform on board.
“Preliminary reports indicate that 23 people have lost their lives,while several others have sustained injuries and undergoing treatment at Kapchorwa General Hospital” he posted.

The Directorate of taffric PRO Michael Kananura has confirmed the crash but couldn’t confirm the exact number of fatalities by the time of publication.
“The Uganda Police Force confirms that police in Kapchorwa have this evening registered a fatal road traffic crash involving a school bus, registration number UA 108BQ, transporting pupils of Kings David Junior School, Ndejje” he said.
Kananura noted that the crash occurred at Chekwatit Village, Kimawa Parish, Kawowo Sub-county, Kapchorwa District, at around 8pm.
“Police and other emergency responders are at the scene carrying out rescue operations and establishing the number of casualties and injured persons” he said.
He added, “At this stage, the exact number of fatalities and injuries has not yet been confirmed”.
The incident comes days after a bus owned by Amuria High School, transporting students from St. Paul Secondary School, Katakwi, to Kasenyi Landing Site in Entebbe for a geography study tour claimed the life of the driver after it crashed into a stationary truck.
In May, a bus conductor was left dead after a Gulu Secondary School bus, carrying students to Jinja for a school tour got involved in an accident at Kigumba.
Last week, one person was left dead and left several students injured, after a Friendship Bus transporting students of Mwebaza High School, Kakiri, to Jinja District for an educational trip crashed into a train at Namumira–Bukasa Village, Kyetume Parish, Nakisunga Sub-county, along the Katosi Road in Mukono District.
