Several senior Parliament officials, including the communications director Chris Obore, HR Director Daniel Adilo, former Speaker Rajab Kaya’s Principal Private Secretary, and six other male staff, are currently detained at the Inspector General of Government (IGG) headquarters in Kampala.
According to sources privy to the arrest, the group is set to be arraigned before the anti corruption court today and will be charged with abuse of office and financial mismanagement.
Those picked up include Chris Obore (Director of Communications and Public Affairs), Daniel Adilo (Director of Human Resource), Leonard Okema (Executive Secretary in the Office of the Speaker), Rajab Kaaya Ssemalulu (Principal Research Officer), Emmanuel Okwi Emuron (Principal Protocol Officer), Methoda Murebe (CEO of the Parliamentary SACCO), Stella Itute (Personal Assistant), and Vincent Otebata (Capacity Development Officer).
However the specific details of the cases are yet to be revealed.
