A joint team of security operatives have this morning raided the home of outspoken former Minister for Ethics and Integrity, Miria Matembe.
According to reports, the morning raid was carried out at 10am, however they didn’t find the former legislator at home, since she had evaded the home at the time of the incident.
According to sources, the operatives ransacked the house and left with several items in their possession.
Human Rights lawyer Eron kiiza, while condemning the raid, urged God to protect Matembe.
“May the soldiers surrounding Matembe’s house continue to fail to locate her. May Almighty God shield her from abduction” he posted.
The raid on Matembe’s home comes nine days after Special Forces Command (SFC) operatives, raided former Kampala Lord Mayor and president of People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) party, Erias Lukwago’s home in Wakaliga, a Kampala suburb.
Lukwago is currently remanded at Luzira maximum prison on charges of misprision of treason
Currently, Matembe’s whereabouts remain unknown.
