The former Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko, has revealed that the former Speaker of parliament Anita Annet Among, is gravely ill after suffering a deep vein thrombosis (blood clot),that has left her unable to walk.
“Rt Hon Anita Anette Among is very very sick, she has a blood clot in the legs, she can no longer walk” he said.
Nsereko who made the revelation during a live Tik Tok broadcast on his personal channel on Monday evening, condemned the treatment the former speaker is receiving.
“It’s terrible what I have seen, the legs are all swollen, what happened to compassion in the world, on one side Lukwago is being hunted for not working with them, on the other those who have worked with them are also being oppressed” he said.
Nsereko, a known close associate of Among, made the remarks in light of the health condition of jailed former Mayor Erias Lukwago, and further revealed that National Unity Platform’s (NUP) Sauda Madada is currently also bed ridden with an undisclosed sickness.
“When we talked here that Ssegirinya is sick, people took it as joking subject, until he passed on. Those who are laughing that Lukwago is sick on Anita Among and should be kept there, yaa, sickness is like a guest, it will knock in every house” he said.
Anong, who is currently under investigation by the Inspectorate of Government (IGG) and the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), over allegations of grand corruption, abuse of office, illicit enrichment, and money laundering, remains confined under heavily armed house arrest at her upscale Nakasero residence.
Among’s woes began following a directive from President Museveni, to joint security forces to launch coordinated raids on her multiple luxury residences across Nakasero, Kigo, and Ntinda, as well as her country home in Bukedea.
By the time of this publication, neither police nor parliament had issued a statement on the Bukedea district Woman legislator’s health.
