The Inspector General of Government (IGG), Lady Justice Aisha Naluzze Batala, has revealed that the inspectorate is investigating several petitions it has received against former speaker Anitah Among.
In a post shared on it’s official X handle, the inspectorate confirmed receiving several petitions against Among, but declined to divulge any details into the ongoing allegations related to corruption, accountability, illicit enrichment and money laundering.
“We have received several petitions against former Speaker @AnitahAmong and have commenced preliminary investigations. We cant divulge any information prematurely” the inspectorate posted.
On Friday last week, Lady Justice Naluzze confirmed receiving a petition from six lawyers recently, seeking her to provide them with details of Speaker Anita Annette Among’s wealth after she allegedly failed or under declared her wealth.
“I just want to confirm that we received the complaint. When we receive complaints, we have a procedure for processing them. We received the complaint and we are processing it” she said.
As the corruption probe into former Speaker of Parliament Anitah Among, deepens, security operatives on Tuesday, cordoned off the 5th floor of Parliament’s East Wing, as search operations were carried out in the office of former Speaker Anita Among.
