The Wakiso District Chief Administrative Officer Jude Mark Bukenya, revealed that the Namulanda project is valued at approximately UGX 57 billion while the Seguku project is estimated at UGX 56 billion both inclusive of value-added tax.
The Wakiso District LC5 Chairperson Matia Lwanga Bwanika, urged the contractors to kick start the construction of the roads with maintenance works of all feeder roads to ensure road users aren’t inconvenienced by the construction.
“We have so many big people staying around who are going to be inconvenienced by the construction or rehabilitation of the project. And we have so many feeder roads connecting to the highway which are impossible” he said.
The officials noted that the roads will be upgraded to bitumen standard to improve mobility around Kampala.
