Entebbe Central Police Station has in custody three men who were arrested in the wee hours of Monday after they broke into a home armed with panga’s and metal bars and attempted to rob the home occupants of money and other valuables.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, the three suspects on 9th March 2026 at about 3:30 AM, armed with pangas broke into a residence in Abaita Ababiri, Kabaale B Ward, Katabi Town Council along Entebbe road and robbed UGX 570,000 as well as a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.
“Police responded swiftly, surrounded the house, and arrested the suspects who had hidden in the ceiling, the suspects have been identified as Sekitoleko Acram, Oluka Robert, and Mbazira Bashir.
Police recovered the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Shs 240,000, part of the stolen money” he said.
In a separate incidence, Police in KMP South have registered success in operations against cattle theft and aggravated robbery, leading to the arrest of four suspects in separate incidents.
“On 7th March 2026, a joint operation involving Police, UPDF, and local community members was conducted in Kasanje Town Council following complaints of cattle theft. During patrols in crime-prone areas including Bimbi Swamp, one white-spotted heifer was recovered and police has since got in touch with the owner” he said.
He noted that Police arrested Zimbwe Ramathan, a resident of Kyengera, who is currently detained at Kasanje Police Station and charged with cattle theft.
Owoyesigyire while commending the community for their cooperation, which greatly contributed to the arrests noted that investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
