The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the passing of Uganda’s Deputy High Commissioner to Rwanda Santa Laker Kinyera, at Mulago National Referral Hospital.
According to a statement released by the ministry, Kinyera passed on at Mulago Specialized National referral hospital, where she has been receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness for some time.
“It is with profound shock and sorrow that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces the passing of our dear colleague Amb. @SantaLaker Kinyera which occurred this morning at Mulago Specialized National referral hospital” the statement read.
Amb. Kinyera joined the MoFA in 1994 as a career diplomat and rose through the ranks. She has been serving as Uganda’s Deputy High Commissioner in Kigali.
The ministry noted that details of funeral arrangements will be shared in due course.
