The Soroti City Police has in custody a woman identified as Tesira Abilo, over allegedly issuing Ugandan passports to people from her home in Soroti City.
According to the Uganda Police Spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke, Abilo who was arrested during an operation on Sunday, was also found with a number of immigration related documents that she was issuing out.
“In the morning of 22nd February 2026, security agencies conducted an intelligence-led operation in Orwadai in Soroti City following reports of one Abilo Tesira a female adult involved in the sale of passports and other immigration-related documents” he said.
Kituuma revealed that during the Sunday operation, 261 passports, several certificates of good conduct, and yellow fever cards were recovered from the suspects home
“She was issuing them from her residence. She is currently under police custody as investigations continue” Kituuma noted.
