The Nsangi Division Police has in custody 32 youths following their arrest over suspected use of narcotic drugs, robbing phones and bags from people during rush hours in the area.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, police in the area conducted a disruptive operation in the areas of Kyengera Central, Nabaziza, Masanda, and Kinawa on Sunday night to apprehend the suspected law breakers.
“Nsangi Police Division conducted a disruptive operation in Kyengera Central, Nabaziza, Masanda, and Kinawa following reports of youths involved in smoking suspected narcotic drugs and stealing phones and bags during rush hours” Owoyesigyire read.
He added, “The operation was carried out between 10:30 PM and 3:30 AM. A total of thirty-two (32) suspects were arrested and are currently detained at Kyengera Police Station pending screening and further investigation”.
Owoyesigyire noted that the force remains committed to maintaining law and order in the area.
