Joint Security operatives have this morning sealed off the campaign venue that had been booked by the National Unity Platform (NUP) leaders in Entebbe Municipality, where the Party Presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine was meant to campaign from.
Bobi Wine is expected to hold two rallies today, the first in Makindye Sabagabo and thereafter in Entebbe Municipality, both in Wakiso District on Tuesday.
However, the authorities in Entebbe Municipality have since turned down his initial campaigning venue at Entebbe Muslim groounds where a stage had been erected by Monday evening.
The sealing off of the venue follows a withdraw of the earlier acceptance to use the venue by the County Sheikh Twesigye Rajab citing lack of communication to his superiors at the district and Uganda Muslim Supreme Council.
“Reference is made to my earlier acceptance letter dated 19th December 2025 wherein I offered the Muslim grounds for a NUP presidential rally slated for the 23rd December 2025
This is to revoke the acceptance letter which I erroneously signed without following the Uganda Moslem Supreme council rules and regulations as no communication was made to the District about the same.
Having consulted the Muslim District leadership, I would therefore like to inform you that your current booking has been cancelled and will not be available for the said political rally on the date previously agreed upon” Sheikh Twesigye wrote in a letter to the NUP leadership.
The late Tuesday cancelation had led to party leaders running to the distric security heads to allow them use Tanda Play grounds found in Busiro South, which is outside Entebbe Municipality.
According to party officials, they are now left woth no option but yo use Tanda Play grounds for Bobi Wine’s camp
aign in Entebbe.
