As part of its partnership with the Joe Walker 60KM Remembrance Relay 2025, the Intelligent Transport Monitoring System (ITMS) Uganda has reaffirmed its commitment to saving lives beyond the road by donating UGX 10 million to Mulago National Referral Hospital.
According to an ITMS spokesperson, the contribution will go toward acquiring essential emergency medical equipment, aimed at strengthening the hospital’s capacity to respond to road crash victims.
“Our commitment to road safety doesn’t end with technology — it extends to the lives that technology aims to protect,” said an ITMS Uganda spokesperson.
The spokesperson added, “Through this contribution to Mulago Hospital, we are bridging the gap between prevention and response, ensuring that those affected by road crashes receive timely, quality care.”
Along with the partnership and supporting the event ITMS team of 12 employees overpassed 60 kilometres around Kampala streets.
Joseph Beyanga alias Joe Walker, founder of the Remembrance Relay, applauded ITMS’s gesture.
“This partnership is a model of action-driven compassion. ITMS isn’t just walking for awareness — they’re walking by investing in lifesaving capacity where it’s needed most. The donation marks a tangible outcome of the 2025 relay’s mission —turning remembrance into recovery, advocacy into action” he said.
