The Mityana Chief Magistrate’s Court has remanded Lutwama Isaac Mugandazi over alleged forgery and fraudulent procurement of a certificate of title of an 83 year old woman’s land titles.
Lutwama has been charged with fraudulent procurement of a certificate of title, forgery, uttering false documents, making a false declaration in a matter relating to land and conspiracy to commit a felony.
According to prosecution, between April and July 2019, in Kasalaga village, Mityana District, Lutwama and other individuals still at large forged and presented powers of attorney, falsely claiming they had been granted by Najjemba Christine, an 83-year-old widow.

Furthermore, Lutwama is accused of conspiring with others at the Mityana Ministry Zonal Office (MZO) to fraudulently obtain certificates of title for land comprised in Busujju Block 56, Plots 249, 113, 106, 100, 121, 125, 126, 122, 70, 112, 114, and 101.
Lutwama then allegedly sold a portion of the land belonging to Najjemba Christine.
The chief magistrate’s court remanded Lutwama until October 25, 2025.
Lutwama was arraigned before the court after he was arrested by the State House Anti-corruption unit in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) of the Uganda Police Force and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
