The Deputy Inspector General of Government, Dr. Patricia Achan Okiria has ordered the Pakwach District senior clinical officer Mr. Jimmy Oryema, to refund over UGX 47 million to the District Local Government after failing to account for it while working as the In-charge of Wadelai Health Centre III.
According to the directive issued on Thursday, Oryema is supposed to deposit the money into the IG Assets Recovery Account Number held in Bank of Uganda within six months from the date of receipt of the directive.
The Inspectorate of Government (IG) noted that the directive was issued, after investigations conducted by the IG Arua Regional Office found Mr. Oryema guilty.
Investigations established that Mr. Oryema failed to account for a total of UGX 47,964,000 Primary Healthcare (PHC) and Result-based Financing (RBF) funds which the Health Centre had received in the FY2022/23 and the FY 2023/2024 respectively.
During investigations, Mr. Oryema committed to refund the money within six months at a monthly installment of UGX 7,994,000.
