The Police in Lyantonde ditrict has launched a manhunt for a suspect a one “Isaac” over the death of a 15 year old student of Kyemamba Seed Secondary School, in Lyantonde district who was found dead inside his rented room.
While addressing media, the Greater Masaka Police spokesperson Kasirye Twaaha, revealed that the deceased, identified as Nankinga Meble, left her parents’ home on the evening of September 1, 2025, without informing them and proceeded to Kyemamba Trading Centre where she allegedly spent the night at Isaac’s residence.
Upon discovering that Nankiga didn’t spend the night at home in the morning, the parents mounted a search for her until 10am when they received information that she had been sighted at Isaac’s room the previous evening.
Sadly, upon arrival at Isaac’s rented room, they were horrified to discover her lifeless body lying on the suspect’s bed which prompted them to alert the police.
Mr Kasirye noted that the police quickly responded to the scene, cordoned off the premises and conducted preliminary investigations before transferring the body to Lyantonde Hospital for a postmortem examination.
“The suspect is currently on the run. We are pursuing all leads and appeal to the public to share any information that may assist in tracing his whereabouts,” Kasirye said.
Kasirye further noted that efforts to trace Isaac, the last person to be seen with the girl are underway as the police waits for the postmortem results as investigations into the death commence.
