The Uganda Police spokesperson Mr Kituuma Rusoke has revealed that the force is on the hunt for Media personality and Presidential advisor Justine Nameere over the assault of fellow Museveni aide and musician Jennifer Nakangubi alias Full Figure on Friday.
“There was a video which was trending on social media spaces of some individuals assaulting somebody who appeared to be full figure, we then received a complaint from her, as a result we decided to investigate the matter.
“Our routines are very clear, if somebody accuses you, then you must explain, whereas I may not have details of how far they have gone but I can predict that whoever she accuses of having assaulted her, we shall treat him or her the way we treat suspects in those offences” he noted.
According to police, Full Figure, reported that on Friday she was intercepted and assaulted by Justine Nameere and her husband along Kyadondo Road during which they reportedly stole her phone and UGX 500,000 from her.
“We shall bring you (Nameere) to the police station to have an explanation against the accusations brought against you, if the evidence is cogent, then we shall process you and take you to court” Kituuma noted.
Kituuma who made the remarks during the weekly media presser at Naguru denied allegations that the police had ignored many cases that have been reported against Full Figure by a number of people.
“If you feel you are one of them, you act like her, reach out to police, if there is any police officer who has refused to work on your case, escalate the matter, it’s actually a disciplinary offence if a police officer refused to handle a matter” he said.
Kituuma further condemned people from taking the law into their own hands but rather report cases to police against full figure in order to get justice.
“A matter is supposed to be concluded where we establish whether the accused person or suspect, there is cogent evidence to pin him or her or not, if there are people out there who have cases against her, let them come out like what she (Full figure) has done” he noted.
According to insiders in NRM, the attack on full figure allegedly by Nameere, a daughter to former defence minister Vincent Ssempijja arose after Nameere supported Moses Karangwa while full figure supported the winner Haruna Kasolo in the just concluded NRM CEC elections.
