The accused, operating under a faction calling itself the Boys Scouts Association, together with others still at large, are alleged to have violently taken over the National Camping and Scouts Centre at Kaazi–Busaabala, Masajja Division, Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality on 24th June 2025.

They reportedly mobilised a large group of people to forcibly enter the premises, broke into the offices of the Uganda Scouts Association, and caused extensive destruction.

This included grading the land and cutting down historic trees, demolishing structures such as kitchens, latrines, a watchtower, water tanks, and pipes, as well as confiscating property belonging to the Uganda Scouts Association.
