The Entebbe Main police is investigating the murder of an elderly couple who had recently returned to the country from Switzerland to retire back home in Uganda.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire revealed that the police is carrying out forensic analysis of several exhibits recovered from the home on Sunday.
According to Owoyesigyire Mr Mutaga David 69 and his wife Mutaga Florence 62 were murdered by stabbing in a cold blood at their residence, plot 17 Research road, Lugonjo -Nakiwogo, Division ‘B’ Kiwafu Parish.
The stabbing is said to have happened on Sunday night at 09:30PM, a few hours after a guests who had come to attend to a family gathering had left the home.
However according to security sources who are privy to the investigation but not allowed to speak to media revealed that, the alleged murderer was seen on the CCTV footage accessing the home after climbing over the wall fence with the assistance of an Ovacado tree at the fence.
The source revealed that killer who was wearing a mask, gloves and cap found David sitting in the sitting room sipping on a drink and told him he was there to kill him, his favorite drink, then told him ”Am here to kill you” and stabbed him in the foot first, when David made alarm his wife who was upstairs heard and peeped to see what was happening, she saw the killer and started calling relatives and friend to inform them how they have been attacked”.
“The killer reportedly took David with him to the gate with a knife at his neck and ordered him to open the gate using the code, after opening, he stabbed him in the heart killing him instantly”
“He then went back to the house walked upstairs broke into the bedroom and stabbed the wife right in the heart and killed her, the wife who seeking for help was talking to someone by the time the thug broke in, her phone dropped but the call was still active and therefore the person on the other end heard everything the killer said”
“He also told her ”I am here to kill you” then walked majestically out of the gate and went on foot after killing both”.
the killer is said to have also recorded is actions with a phone that he had, all of which was recorded by the CCTV
The bodies of the deceased were taken to City Mortuary Mulago for postmortem examinations as investigations continue.
