The spokesperson for the Uganda Police ACP Kituuma Rusoke has revealed that the force shot dead three suspected robbers who were attempting to rob a mobile money shop in Lungujja-Mengo, Rubaga Division over the weekend.

“The officers responded swiftly to the distress call and arrived at the scene to find a violent struggle between the suspects and the victim over a small black bag containing cash. Startled by the gunfire, the suspects fled the scene” kituuma said.
Kituuma noted that the police motorcycle squad immediately pursued the fleeing suspects up to the Mengo Stabex fuel station where they engaged the suspects, resulting in a shootout.
“Two suspects were neutralized on the spot, while a third suspect sustained injuries and died enroute to Mulago Hospital. However, two other suspects managed to escape on a numberless motorcycle”.
Kituuma revelaed that the force recovered several exhibits, including a bag containing UGX 8,435,000, two transaction mobile phones (MTN and Airtel), the victim’s National Identity Card, and his house keys from the scene.
